Meet The Team

Marie-Laure began practicing yoga to rebuild strength after a severe sports injury and relieve stress caused by her very demanding job. Over time, yoga has not only become a way for her to channel her energy, but also find inner peace, by being more connected to herself and to the present moment. Her teaching style beautifully balances the opposites, cultivating strength and stamina while fostering a sense of humor, openness, and humility. Her aim is for students to leave her class feeling energized and empowered, yet relaxed, grounded and moved, in every sense.

Brenda is a happy spirited yogi, who loves travelling, dancing, and occasionally goes overboard on eating chocolate. Besides exploring new things, she's been teaching yoga since 2014. “Opening up your heart, mind & body to follow your path instead of doing what you think people expect from you, is the greatest gift you can give yourself”. This is what Brenda tries to express and give to her students. Brenda's  classes are both dynamic and soft. It will let you experience your inner stillness and leave you with an uplifted spirit after class.

Yoga has helped me to find more peace with ‘what is’ and to connect with what you truly need - instead of what you want. I believe it’s not about finding something, but more about noticing what is already inside you waiting to be discovered. In my classes I like to combine breath work with mindfulness and meditation. Exploring what happens when you stop the doing, and start being. This can be very challenging, as this is not what we are used in our very yang lifestyle. That’s why I believe it is even more important to bring more yin energy back into our lives.

Eleanor discovered yoga during university, at a time when she was very unhappy with herself. After lots of nervous procrastination, she finally tried a class, and was hooked. She soon began her first teacher training and 5 years later, she is still teaching alongside her studies and other work. Her classes have a underlying focus on better understanding our minds and bodies - and the influence each has on the other.  A year ago she moved to Amsterdam to pursue a PhD in astrophysics. When she's not teaching, you can find her working on science communication and trying to learn Dutch!

“Discovering Yin Yoga is one of the best things that has happened in my life”. As an independent filmmaker and mother of two children, my life was very hectic, very yang-like. I used to do a lot of gymnastics to keep in shape, but when I discovered Yoga it felt like coming home. The deep meditative and relaxing effects of yoga and specially yin yoga balanced my life so well that I love to share the experience and practice with others.”

In my experience yoga is a practice to be with yourself, observe, discover and change towards a more balanced and improved version you. As a teacher I hope to inspire my passion for yoga, make it accessible and fun for everyone. In my classes I combine the beauty of flow with the precision of body alignment creating a save space for my students to feel more aware and connected with themselves, to become flexible and strong in their bodies, open in their hearts and quiet in their minds. Practice, practice and everything will come.

Massage is the one thing that has always helped me to relax and to feel more connected to myself. The day I first experienced Thai Yoga Massage, or “Nuad Bo Rarn”, I felt so deeply energized and relaxed, that I knew that I had found the massage technique that I wanted to specialize in. I have since trained in the various forms and levels of this Ancient Healing Art in Amsterdam and Chiang Mai, Thailand. I love seeing the effects of the treatments and the classes on others and I hope to inspire you to take greater care of yourself and your happiness.

Mariah began practicing yoga to mitigate and manage sports injuries related to long-distance running, competitive cycling and, more recently, rock climbing. This built in her a deep knowledge and appreciation of how a yoga practice evolves over highs and lows in the physical body, reflecting the same peaks and valleys of one's larger human experience. Mariah teaches Yin, Vinyasa, and Restorative styles. She is also a freelance photographer and enjoys spending time in the outdoors.

A move towards the energetic bodywork & healing fields felt like a natural move to me after a de-manding career in the commercial sector and a burnout. Time to reconnect with myself, nurture my body & soul and heal. Lowering stress & anxiety levels, allowing for the time to explore within, noti-cing energy moving deeper across the body, shifts in mental perceptions, gaining new life insights, shedding off old limitating thoughts patterns are what my students experience during my Yin, Restorative & Yoga Nidra classes & workshops. Aside from teaching I'm also a massage therapist & an Emotional Freedom Techniques Coach

Rik is a Vinyasa flow teacher who loves to empower you to connect with yourself, your inner strength and wisdom. Rik has been practicing Bikram and Kriya yoga since 2000. With a busy job as manager of a communications department, yoga helped him to relax and still the mind. ‘As a man I can relate easily to the male body. Male bodies often have strong muscles, but often they are a little bit shorter. This can result in more stiffness. Getting flexibility back into the male body can be challenge. But in yoga there is no right or wrong. Let’s just practice together, be playful and have fun.’

Joy & lightness are the driving forces behind Daniel's yoga practice. His vinyasa classes include elements from various practices. Tibetan joint loosening warm-ups, an ashtanga inspired flow and mindful observation of stillness and movement.

Together with the use of sound (either your own voice or the songs he selects), Daniel invites you to an inward journey beyond the stories of the mind. Besides teaching yoga, he hosts sound ceremonies. The main purpose of his work is to share peace of mind and joy with people and pick them up where they are, no need to fit into any form or image.

Birth has always been Gaia's passion, but it wasn't until she moved to Amsterdam that she gathered the courage to make it into a job. Gaia first became a doula, supporting women during birth, and she later decided to turn her passion for yoga in a tool to help women connect with their bodies and their babies during  pregnancy and in the first months after birth. The birth of her son Ravi in 2017 allowed her to finally live first hand what she only knew through books and her students' experience, setting her on the amazing, revolutionary and heart-opening path of motherhood.
